Is it possible to go Pro if I start playing Tennis at 15 ?
Question:I am 15 years old, I just started playing tennis 2 months ago, and I really want to be a Pro Tennis player :) But I know I am starting really really late :( I am in really good shape, my parents know my dream is kinda out there...but they are VERY supportive, and I have been practicing ALOT :)
*So do you think it is possible to go Pro, even though I am starting this late ? I would also really love any advice you could give me :)
My Current Week-Day Practice Schedule:
5-7:00 AM: Wake-up & Practice Tennis
8 AM-4 PM: School
5-8 PM: Practice Tennis
*During the weekend I practice ALL day (seriously ALL day)
*I take group tennis lessons, but I also have 2 private coaches, which is how I get to practice so often
*I am also planning to go to a tennis camp during the summer
Thank you for your help and sorry my question is so long :)

How i find out what i like to do ( working ),?
Yes you can but its a very low chance! 1st of all, to be a pro you would need to play tennis at least for 10 years before you can really play on a high WTA level so it would take some time! 2nd of all, most of players start playing tennis at the age of 8 y.o. so by the time they finish their high school (around 17-18 y.o.) they can see if there is or isn’t any chance to play on WTA or ATP tour, if the do have a chance they drop their further studies (college or uni) because there will have no time for it and just dedicate 100% of the time to tennis so they can get more feedback (results > incomes). If there is no chance to play on ATP or WTA tour these 17-18 y.o. guys just go for further studies to college or uni and maybe play tennis for a college team which happens more often. In fact that you start playing tennis at the age of 15 y.o. believe me you would not have enough time to study at college or uni and train professionally at the same time so lets imagine you would have to drop you studies...and now think by the age of 25 y.o. you don’t have an education and just hoping to play on the tour.good for you if it works out but what if it doesn’t? How far away would you go with no education? So now we can make a conclusion which comes from real life: if you are from a wealthy family - go for it but it would cost you around $100.000 a year to train professionally with good coaches and even if it wont work at least your family could support you to continue growing in life! If your family doesnt have this kind of funds - you better to go to college after you finish your high school, at least you would have more guarantees in life when you have your dergee because tennis is too risky!
I wish you all the best and good luck!
no
good luck

of course! if you practice that much then yeah! just have hope and believe that you can do it. =]I'm thinking yes, as long as you put this much passion into it during the future. You're 15, still young, so yeah. You seem to be doing good at practicing. [=
Who are the top five male tennis players in Britain?
You can do anything with enough practice and resources. Many of the pros start extremely young, but if you are determined you can do it!Tennis camp and having instructors will be of a great benefit to you.
Good luck on your quest :)

well i see you're obsessing about tennis a lot so if you keep this up for about 6-7 years you will be pro.my dad had the same problem with hockey.
it is depends how much your talent work?
Do you always winner in every battle?
Work hard and exercise is good for be pro.
Who thinks tennis is fun? i think its the best sport ever!?
It's highly improbable, but stranger things have happened.A lot of things other than just desire go into competing at the highest levels of sport. You apparently have one of them-family support-but there's also natural talent, perseverance and, to some degree, luck.
But the good thing is that you're willing to follow your dream, no matter how improbable it may seem. And when you're willing to do that, usually you'll be happy whether you achieve your initial dream or not, because often another dream will materialize in the process.
It's the passion for striving for what you truly want that's the critical ingredient anyway.
It doesn't matter how old you start. You can be a pro if you are enjoy the sport and if you're good at it. It would also help that you are very serious and patient learning the sport...
good luck... just remember be serious and practice a lot...
I desperately need a way to make money and I'm a highschool student can anyone suggest anything??
maybe but it's not worth it15 is too old.
In women's tennis do you always bet against the heterosexual?
it depends on you. if you're talented and hard-working, you can be a PRO altho you started when you're 15.Have you asked your coaches what they think? Ask them to be honest. I asked a coach who was a professional player but stopped due to career-ending injury, if its true that you have to start young to be a top pro. He said yes.
The reason is that it takes at least 80 hours of practicing the right action for your brain and body to start doing it automatically. But first you have to practice getting the action right! Also , tennis is not just technique. Above that is mental capacity to continiously strategise during your game and stay motivated even if you're 2 sets and 3 match points down. In a tight corner like that you dont wanna have to hope you're hitting the ball right. You have to hit it right!
Top players learn basic technique young, then sharpen strategy in their teens. Altho they continously brush up on technique throughout their careers.
Top players also end their careers around 30y.o. and move into coaching, exhibition shows, commentating etc. Because they cannot match the agility of their youthful 19 y.o opponents.
But these are "Top" players. If you're happy being a pro winning a small tournament here and there and being ranked somewhere outside the Top 50 or Top 100 players, then I say Go for it! You'll earn enough to support yourself if you invest your winnings right. Who knows? you may defy all the odds and make it as a top player. Either way, you can count on me to be your fan!
The bottom line is: If tennis is what makes you happy, you should go pro whether you make it as a top player or not. Coz otherwise you'll always look back and wonder... what if? And that is worse than failure, i think.
Make your first goal to be a division one tennis player. Playing College tennis is awesome. You do a lot of traveling and it is very competitive. You are getting a bit of a late jump especially being a girl since females tend to mature physically faster then guys and by 15 most of them are close to turning pro. That is not to say to give up your dreams of being a great player , you just have the odds stacked against you. Remember this from first hand experience , you can gave a wonderful career in tennis and make a great living doing other things in the tennis field, teaching at a club, coaching a College team, becoming the next Mary Carillo calling matches on television. Work your tail off and start winning some USTA sectional events ( You will feel great about yourself) . Strategically if I were you I would spend about 50 percent of the time working on developing a huge serve 20 percent of your training developing a huge forehand and another 20 percent on movement so you are like the flash out there moving around and the rest on just being consistent on the other shots, Serve , Forehand and footwork are the keys to success in todays game. It is such a great sport and I do not blame you for falling in love with it and going for it, like I said just bust your *** in training and play as many junior tournaments as possible , but set smaller goals . You get a high sectional ranking or and any kind of National ranking you should be very proud of yourself , you should be anyway. Good luck Champ.
Where can you find Fila clothes and their new spring fashions for tennis?
yeah sure. just search for previous questions before asking i have seen questions like this far too many times! having said that.it is only possible if you have the will and desire to succeed as a tennis player. if you have that then you are well on your way. I am also impressed with your great level of committment. When you have improved maybe you should try to get into an academy.
like Bolleteri tennis academy http://www.imgacademies.com/tennis/defau...

Who is you favorite tennis player?
Anything is possible in sports especially. If your coaches see potential and desire why not!. If you think you are good and you are watching the pros and you think its for you go for it.No, most or all of the pro tennis players started when they were around 3 to 8 years old. It takes a LONG time to acheive every aspect of the game. But don't let this bring you down, tennis is a very fun sport, you still play it when you are 65 or so.
Imagine you were coaching a top tennis player wha technological development might you use and why?
It is possible, if you are born TALENTED like Roger Federer who started at the age 13 or Marcus Baghidadis.I started at 19 to play & everyone thought i have been playing sinc Nursery School. The first time i held a tennis racquet, i won against the best players in the Club.
well if you do fantastic in gym and go to college that has tennis then you can go pro just i dont know how many years in college you have to go through...
good luck
What are the best foods to eat before a tennis game?
Of course!Look and Lindsay Davenport, I don't think she started playing until age 13, and she's one of the greatest female tennis players out there.
I'm 15 and want to be a pro too, I don't know if I'm good enough, but I'm gonna keep my head up and hope for the best, and that's all you can do too!
Good luck!

What do you think of Serena Williams win tonight!?
i do not believe u will be able to go pro, sry even though u are still young u are starting kind of late i started playing tennis at 4 years old and i play on the USTA circuit and the people that are 15 have also been playing very young and they are extremely talented but keep playing everyday and u will eventually become a very good playerYou aren't going to be able to go to pro. No offense, but the highest level you may reach are local tournaments and such. You have started out way too late. The current pros have all been chosen by prestigeous tennis academies at ages of 12 and younger. At those academies, they make the magic happen and send you off to pro. These academies have scouts that look for potential players but they do not choose a person who is too old. After all, tennis pros have to retire around 25 and younger.
Whom do you think is the all time best tennis player(mens as well as women)?
Absolutely not too late, but you need to work twice as hard though. Japanese pro tennis player Date turned pro when she was almost 20 and she was a top 5 player. No offense, but no. You can be a pro, but you will start very late, but it's not worth it. I don't think that if you do actually become pro, you will be good, no offense. Here is why. Serena became pro at 13 , and Venus Williams at 15, and started playing tennis when they were 2 or 3 years old.
That shows that being a tennis player at a young age means that they are highly better than any other player in the world. You just started two months ago, I personally that you can be as good as her. You should have started when you were little.
They were the first tennis players to start being a pro below the age of 16. They are too good. You can do whatever you want in life and that's good, but I don't you will be good enough. Another example why. There is a tennis player who became pro at 13, now she's 14 from Portugal and won the first round in the Sony Ericsson Open in Key Biscayne and played a 7-5 set with Daniela Hantuchova. She will be a future #1. People that are pro at 13, 14, or 15, it means that they started tennis when they were 2 or 3, but you started super late.
WRIST SNAP - - - Should you do it?
Alright basically you need to be pretty good. I suggest that if your pretty good start entering USTA matches. Once you start winning local and state championships enter a u.s invitational. If you win several of those than you might think about entering a minor pro tournament and see how you do there. Basically it could take you a while but if your good enough then yes you could still make it. If your really dedicated i suggest entering a prestigious tennis school in Florida and play year round. That's were many of the pros started.Good Luck!
