Can you play tennis at a country club without owning the equipment? Do they offer rentals?
What exactly do you wear?
Answers:
Why do they call "LET" when the ball touches the net and enter in the service area during a service?
Most country clubs will have used rackets that you should be able to borrow or rent. It depends on the club, however, so you should call in advance to be sure they can provide you with a racket. They most likely will have balls you can purchase, and depending on the pro, they might let you use some used balls for free.
As for what you wear--if it is an "elite" country club, you should wear a collared shirt (males) or tennis shorts or a skirt or a tennis dress (female). You can certainly get by with anything close to the above, but err in the direction of conservative dress. Some clubs don't care what you wear, but many do. Also, be sure to wear tennis shoes, not running shoes or basketball shoes, for example. Clubs really care that you do not wear shoes that will mark the courts.
It's really best to contact the club about these questions, but you will never go wrong with the clothing I suggest above, especially if you choose the color white.
Finally--definitely do NOT wear denim of any kind. Most country clubs do not allow this on the golf course or tennis courts.
