How Can I practice an Get Better at VolleyBall?

assuming you are right handed.

1. Square your shoulders to the net, left foot slightly in front of right foot, and apart for a good balance.
2. Extend the left arm (tossing arm) parallel to the floor. Hold the ball with your left hand.
3. Toss the ball high in the air towards the right side but not exceeding your right shoulder, keeping the ball about 5 inches in front of you.
4. Keep your EYES ON THE PART OF THE BALL you will contact, and not the other side of the court!
5. Bring your service arm back (right arm) and swing at the ball with a open palm. Follow through on the swing. Make sure you reach high...and not bent your elbow.
6. Practice, Practice, Practice. Good Luck.

I love to cheer dose anyone else?and voley ball they rock?

practice. if you're going to be serious once you learn that you need to learn how to jump serve. pretty much the same thing except you need to lead yourself further with the jump serve.
other than that it's pretty much, throw the ball up with one hand and hit it with the other. over the net is a plus. if it hits in the box on the other side it's a point. good luck.

Should i play volleyball or tennis in the fall?

1st u need to parctice hitting the ball at the 10 foot line over hand once you can do that step back to the end line and throw the ball over the net for awhile next you need to learn a float serv hold the ball head level hit the ball hard but stop with the follow through next a hard drop serv is good to start toss the ball up with top spin meanning the ball should be spinning away from you and swing through the ball good luck

Is it ok to play sportsy but still be a girly girl?

Watch the ball after you toss it up. When it starts coming down begin your swing. Practise a lot.

Did anyone else make varsity freshman year and play?

here is what i wrote to someone else who had problem serving and they started getting it over

first of all i'd practice by making sure you know the right technique..... for me my coach is having us try open hand ... i read a really good description of how to do it somewhere... but you hold the ball with your left hand (arm straight) but move your hand so that it is in front of your right shoulder.. so your holding the ball in front of your right shoulder but in your left hand. then you want to toss the ball in the air. so that it is going straight up from where your left hand was but not so high that its out of control. it should be just out of your reach right hand in the air. once you get the throw down... you want to make sure your hitting the ball witht he cushiony part of your hand.. not the palm or your fingers... but that cushiony part. also make sure you are hitting the ball at the bottom (not directly at the bottom but if you were to hold the ball where the brand name is looking at you and is in the middle, under that brand name is where you should hit it). once you can get the hitting and throws down make sure you practice stepping through. how you do this is by putting all your weight on your right foot (which is behind your left) throwing the ball and as soon as you make contact you should sort of feel the weight move to your left foot and then land on your right foot.. but make sure you watch the line. once you can walk through, hit, and toss the ball you've got the right technique down.

second of all you need to have enough power. make sure your building that muscle by doing negative push ups, push ups, and other this to build your upper arms. also remember to follow through that gives your hit more power and to try to hit it hard (but controlled).

thrid of all you can use closed fist if neccessary if you don't have enough power.. but as the other pple said..its out of control. try to use open hand.

i hope that helped :)

Any good site that explain volleyball rotation stuff?

Here's my advice... (based on a right hand hitter)

Keep the ball out in front of you and higher than the hitting hand.
Pretend you are a waiter/waitress holding a tray in your hitting hand.
Hitting hand flat, ball out front, take step forward, gently toss the ball about 4-6 inches high, then making contact with the ball. Make sure you swing forward and not across your body. Later you will be able to direct your serve to a weak spot on the court.
This movement is similar to a baseball picture making his delivery.

This should work after a little practice, and won't require you to bulk up in the weight room. Remember, serve the ball..don't smash the ball!

Best of luck!

Volleyball knee-pads?

just make sure that when u hit the ball, ur hand is firm so it could get to the other side of the court. put strength and vigority on it.
