I am a shy pearson so what should i do to not be made fun of while joining the team?
i would like to join the volley ball team and i am a really good player but most of the girls are preppy and make fun of the shy kids on the team well this year i would like to stand up and i be the spirit of the team and at the same time not get made fun of by the preppy girls on the team how do i do this??

Join and show how good you are. Try aiming your strike to who ever bothers you the most and make her bleed like Ben stiller in Meet the Parents.Then they will all respect you. For ever.

Shy or not shy, you look like a fun person to me. If I were "preppy", I'd like you.You have to ignore these idiots and learn not to care what other people think of you. Do your own thing and act how you want to act, some people will like it, some people won't, but they all will respect it. Good luck.

no such thing as being shy...usually has to do with low self esteem.I still can't serve overhand in volleyball so it goes over the net. Any tips to help me out?

If you are a good player, sooner or later they will come around and accept you. A little ribbing is alright. Maybe they want to see if you fit in. If the ribbing goes overboard then you need to stand up and tell them to shut up and play.Any pretty good vball players: how many years of experience do most of you guys have?
just be yourself and be at least a little extroverted. trust me i was that kid, and it worked out great. like all my bball teammates are bffs!here's something that i wish i knew in high school, those preppy kids are going to fail in life and so it doesn't matter what they say because their opinions are generally wrong or stupid.
also the less you care about your shyness, the less they'll tease you for it. and if anyone gives you s.hit, you hand it right back to them. if you're a good player though you probably won't have anything to worry about so just relax and try to have a good time.

as much ribbing as they give, just come back with a better one. when they realize they cant get to u, more than likely they'll lay off. most people who do this is either just as insecure and handle their selves this way while u handle it by being shy and timid. so giving back what they give may break the ice.and who knows what kind of friendships will be made....Any one know a female athlete who donates money to like children or whatever?
be your self and join the crowd. feel free about yourself and get involved in what you are doing. have fun and forget who is around you. I was shy in school and hung out with the ones that were shy. and I was in volleyball and was good at it and when they saw I was good at the sport I made more friends. How come volleyball is considered a feminiene sport?
Last year I didn't like to be loud but then I realized that if you want the girls,other teams, and coaches to notice you you have to be aggressive and loud and go after what you want and show them you are the best at what you do. If the girls are preppy so what if you want to be the spirit of the team then do it and don't think about what they think because they will come around after while and say that girl can play let me stop picking on her and play with her. Just be louder and more aggressive and you determine what your future is not others.Anyway this year I am HEAD CAPTAIN because I determined what I do. Good Luck! Im in the same place its my 2nd year doin v-ball and at practice im not very good and ppl tease me but at games i really shine! and ppl jsut cheer.join with a friend that everyone likes. shell stand up for you
but when you do get on the team which you will. and ppl see how good you play they will stop and stand to like you

ignore the preppy girls...they probably arent too good of players anyway...just be yourself around them and sooner or later your team will turn out to be like a second family!ignore them and have fun! if ur as good as u say u are then u should have a good self esteem and they shouldnt bother u!
