What's mean DS for Volleyball?

Answers:

How does I shoop da whoop?

DS stands for "Defensive Specialist." Usually among the shorter players on the team, the defensive specialist is typically one of the best passers and servers on the team. They only play the three rotations in the back row. They are subbed out for the three rotations their position is in the front row, usually for a taller hitter.

The libero is mostly favored over the DS due to unlimited substitutions, however the DS is not obsolete. Unlike a libero a defensive specialist can serve, set a ball in front of the 10ft line (or 3 meter line), and attack a ball that's above the net line. But a DS's substitutions count against the team's total allowed substitutions.
