We are playing the citys 6th ranked team tomorrow and we are just as good as their JV team, we already know we are going to get smashed. should we just play around or play hard anyways?

You should never play around when it comes to competition at this level.Your team is capable of doing a good job against this team. If you don't do your best then you will never know what the outcome really would of been.A true athlete would take each game seriously from beginning to end. You should always play as hard as you can. Dont give up just because you think you will get smashed. They may play down to your teams level and that would give you an advantage.you should always play hard no matter how hard or easy the team is. you will never learn if you dont try.
