What is a Libero?
Answers:
Volleyball leagues in San Diego??
a libero is someone who is a defense specialist. they will usually come in just to play back row.Know of any good summer volleyball camps/clinics/teams in Northern California or Stockton area?
Defense specialist. With unlimited number of subs, he can sub any back-liner while the ball is not in play.
He cannot block/ attack a ball that is above the net.
Overhead sets in front of the 3 meter line can only be hit behind the 3 meter line.
Only in the NCAA wbg are they allowed to serve.
A libero is replaced by the ones he subbed.
Disadvantages: If the libero has a good service, it will not be utilized. An easy ball aimed at the libero can't be attacked immediately.
Advantages: Great attackers/poor defenders can be utilized without sacrificing points. If a player is good, but doesn't serve consistently, he can play as a libero without endangering the points :)
(advantages and disadvantages are just an opinion;)

libero is the best position ever! like the guy above me said, defensive specialist, only plays backrow, usually the best passer on the team, quick feet, can play any backrow position, wherever needed. does not need a sub, can just take someone out(usually the worst passer).
Where can i get a volleyball myspace web layout?
A libero is a deffensive specialist. Some people pronounce it lee-bear-o, i say li-bear-o. anyway...they only play back row, and dont count as a sub. i dont know about other leagues, but i play USAV travel volleyball, and in that club, liberos cant serve. MY team's libero just broke her ankle!Well, have you ever seen a college volleyball game? Did you see the girl or guy with a darker shirt on? That person is a Libero. The advantage is that they can sub in for free!! In volleyball you only get 15 subs and a Libero doesn't count as one of those subs!
How could you learn volleyball faster?
ok the libero is the defensive specialist they can play back row only they can not serve unless college level they can not come out then in with in one play you have to wait you can go in for anyone anytime unless team is serving wears a different color jersey than the regular teamProblems with overhead pass...?
A libero is not nearly as bad a rule change as rally-scoring. Since the federations introduced rally-scoring, volleyball spectators have steadily declined. The beauty of the game was the side-out, and the art of the game was the forced generalization. Nothing better than seeing 6'-9" Craig Buck make digs.
Unlike the positive effect of the rule changes made by Pete Rozelle in the NFL, these volleyball rule changes have destroyed the essence of the game, and demoted it to a third-class sport.
it came from the latin word LIBER which means to defend, so a libero means a defense specialist, someone who dove dives, and will dive to save the ball. he is good at one arm saves, passing, pancake-ing and the like.
BOTTOM LINE: HE EATS the volleyball!
A libero is someone who normally plays back row and when they sub in and out with someone else it does not count. (you only have a certain amount of subs per match.) In the 14 & under division the libero can't serve. (at least i'm pretty sure.)
You can only have 1 libero per team and some teams do not have a libero. But, I suggest you have one because you can sub in and out more. This is all I know but i hope I helped you!
