What are some good workouts for volleyball?
Question:This is my first year playing, and we start workouts next week. Our tryouts aren't until the beginning of August, but I don't know what workouts on the side I should do! We are going to be doing speed and agility with the high school football team twice a week and then we have open gym once a week. We start weight training later on. I don't want to make a fool of myself, so I'm working with my friend who is a state champion volleyball player for some help. Can you all offer me some help with suggestions on nutrition and things I should be doing on the side to help get me in shape to play volleyball? I want to hopefully make the team so I don't have to be on the women's golf team for the third year in a row.
any help is appreciated.

okay, so i play volleyball and here is my training schedule which works out reallllly wellMonday: Bench Press and squat 3 sets of ten. and about 30 to 35 base to base sprints, then skill training
Tuesday: Run 2 400's one 50 and 2 800's, work on skills
Wed: Run about 20 base to base sprints, Then bench and squat
Thursday: Agility(look up the dot drill) and weight lifting banch and squats, skills
Friday: run a mile then work on skills
Sat; have off and relax
Sun: relax, if on club team u have tournaments, if not take it off and maybe if u dont wanna just do like a 50 meter dash and skills,
I would say your best bet is to do lunges, wall sits, and calf raises to help you jump and just sprints to build stamina.
Who loves volleyball? what is your favorite position?
well i played volleyball for three years and most of what i did to get ready for tryouts and games were:Squats- you'll be in a squat position during a game and you need strong legs.
Push-ups or pull ups- to make your whole arm strong for serving
and jogging- to get your body used to the idea of running back and forth.
Good Luck
How to organize a volleyball tournament?
I would recommend getting jump soles. They increased my vertical jump by 8 inches. I am 5' 10 and can dunk a basketball fairly easy. In volleyball it is so much easier for me now that I am playing way above the net. Really look into this product. To play on a volleyball team, do you need to know how to serve??

I've played v-ball for over 15 years. If you are serious about this, you will need to build your leg and arm muscles and also do something for conditioning. v-ball is very demanding and you have to be in good shape. How has volleyball change over the years?

Any ideas for ab work outs other than sit-ups and crunches?
wall sits, jogging, sit-ups, leg lifts, and sprinting!I have played three seasons of volleyball and never really had to work out. This might because i'm on the bball team on off season and thhen find a club team. I suggest find a workout center near you and explain your situation. They'll give you exercises to do to tone the specific muscles used in vball. Alos pick your strength and perfect it. Mine is serving so I weight lift in my spare time. I aslo pick ¨p tips from watching college vball games. i go to vball clinics when they are available. Work to your potential. At the activities you mentioned, do your hardest. Show the coach that you can be coach easily and that you'll put 200% into vball.
GOOD LUCK!!!
I am a shy pearson so what should i do to not be made fun of while joining the team?
-criss-cross: its like running but your feet are going criss-cross.-planting rice: it is like planting rice...but while doing it, you should bend your knees...because you can recieve the ball when your knees are bend..
