In volleyball they say sideout, but what does that mean?

Answers:

Any people think that volley ball is the best sport?

sideout means that that you defend the serve and put the ball away so the opposing team does not score and your team has the serve for the point.

Receiving team?

:) It means break the other opponents serve

Anyone know any good volleyball cheers??

the old way of keeping score for vball is called "side-out scoring", that is u only get a point if u served that ball (of cuz winning the play first). u want a "side-out" becuz the opposit team keep serving and keep winning points, u want to get the ball back for ur side to serve so u can get points also. (u don't really see ppl say "side-out" to their own team when they r winning.)

it became like an encouragement now, even ppl r playing w/ rally score, but they will still "side-out" when they r losing. =P

(FYI some ppl/leagues r still playing w/ side-out score.)

i dunno if that's the true origin, but that's my logic.. XDDD
