Good question! After playing 2 yrs d-1 and 1 yr d-2 my answer would be it is if you are very disciplined, extremely dedicated, and want to continue a life of eat, sleep, and playing volleyball. It is an experience that most people will never know. The relationships, the camaraderie, the passion, and pure love that is shared between a team is indescribable. It is very much like being in love: the emotion, your willingness to do whatever it takes to succeed, not only for yourself but for the 10 other girls, your coaches, your fans, and your school. Not to mention your education being paid! But there is also long trips that seem to last year round, the ach and hurts and soreness that you didn't think God was capable of letting our bodies go through, the look of a florescent lite gym, the smell of the sweaty locker rooms that become so nauseating, the endless meals at the Olive Garden shoving pasta down your throat. Then there is the feeling of being totally lost in class when you are the, the arguing with professors that it was an excused absence you were gone on a v-ball trip, and maintaing a 3.0 average.
Is a volleyball scholarship worth the pain you ask?!

I would say yes! It all really just depends on the love you have for the sport and how much you are willing to give up! Also you have to think about is if that is really what you want to do in college! But I personally don't think volleyball is that much of a painful sport because I practice everyday! But if I was in your situation I would so go for it!!

i would say yes becuase it give you the chance to get an education. I know a girl that had a 3.2 GPA and she got a scholarship to MIT just because she played volleyball.
