How is volleyball related to science?

Answers:

Any one know any good volleyball tips? i got put on "B" team which means i'm not so good please help!?!?!?!??!

Volleyball can be related to several sciencies:

Physics - as many of the other answers talk about Newton's laws of motion and gravity. Don't forget stuff like impact with the ball, flight dynamics, ball pressure (boyles law)

Mathematics - Volleyball, like many other sports, is surrounded by rules of geometry. The playing field is a finite area, bounded by vertical planes. How a player plays the ball will be determined by their particular skill, height, approach and respective defensive postures on the other team.

Sociology - Group dynamics. How does the team work together to achieve their goal?

Psychology - Personal dynamics. How to players react to adversity? How do they respond when things go well? How does their attitude affect their play/others play?

Im trying to get better at volleyball and try outs i think are tomorrow after school!!! help!!?

Newton's laws of motion, as one example, explain both the gravity of ball and players and the action-reaction physics each time a player moves or the ball is struck.

I notice my new volleyball shorts have a cotton liner, like a bathing suit. Can I wear them without panties?

What is the most popular sport in middle east?

In a million ways but some of the basics are below:
Gravity, you can use the ball and explain how gravitational pull makes tha ball move in different directions.
You can use the body and explain what happens when the ball is contacted at different speeds. And locations.
Action = reaction
You can use the arm and explain how the arm is used like a catapult to launch the ball. Longer the lever = greater distance.
To conclude, science is all over volleyball. I assume this is a question your sceince teacher asked for you to answer. It would make a great project for your end of year science experiment..

Volleyball is an Olympic sport in which two teams, separated by a high net, hit a ball back and forth over the net between the teams. Each team is allowed three hits to get the ball over the net to the other team. A point is scored if the ball hits the ground in the opponents' court, if the opponents commit a fault, or if they fail to return the ball properly.

Volleyball gameVolleyball can be a very active sport that can provide an excellent level of aerobic exercise. It also helps players improve their hand-eye coordination and the ability to override the instinctive desire to dodge a fast-moving object such as a ball.
