mate, volleyball's great! and like the first two clarts point out, the beauty of women's volleyball is like nay other on this sweet earth.as for playing it, it's to do with location.. one associates volleyball primarily with the beach these days. no beach holiday is complete without a good old bash. of volleyball.

I wouldn't say it's unpopular - at least not in Canada. I actually moved to a beach town just so I could play some beach volleyball, and there's always good competition.It is very popular at least where I live. Everyone I know plays on a club team. Even my brother is on a club team.
