Question:how do i do a proper over hand serve...or even underhand?

I still can't serve overhand in volleyball so it goes over the net. Any tips to help me out?
This is for an overhand serve. Stand w/ your feet apart and your less dominant one forward. Toss the volleyball up with your less dominant hand a little in front of you.Use your dominant hand to swing through and hit the ball with the palm of your hand while stepping forward. Don't cross over the serve line and remember to follow through. Do not hit the ball with a closed fist as it leads to an erratic serve.For an over hand serve, toss the ball up with two hands and swing through with your dominent hand (elbow leading) while pulling your other one down. This will help you get more power. Make sure to step with the foot opposite your dominent hand. And ALWAYS hit open palm, at the bottom of your palm. So many people hit closed fist, and the ball can go anywhere off the bones in your hand. Good luck!

you need to throw the ball straight up in front of you and do an arm swing down, hitting the ball forwards.you want to hit the ball with the heel of your hand, and make sure that you keep your hand open and not in a fist!Can somebody make up a cheer for the cougar's team?
1st underhand answer: i mastered the underhand serve fairly quickly and consistently cuz of 2 tricks.most ppl stand with their foot opposite the dominant hand forward. they hold the ball with the other hand, and with the dominant hand, swing back with a "half-closed" fist, and hit the ball with the heel (the hard part above the wrist)
i stand with my dominant foot forward, and as i swing my hand back i take a step forward onto my opposite foot, so by the time my hand makes contact, i'm in the same position as said above (which every1 else is in). but the extra step gives me a lot more momentum (plus if the ball leaves ur hand b4 u step onto the line it's fine!)
last trick: pretend the ball is the head of sum1 u despise. then hit it as hard as u'll can and i'tll go over, i promise!
LEARN OVER HAND! because most schools want people that can serve over hand.i know my school wo't even look at you if you serve underhand..
so act like you are throwing the ball
and toss it to about where your hand reaches stretched upward and swing threw
