Whats the best way tolearn volleyball?
I currently pass the ball with my dad but it's hurting my forearms. I'm 8 years old and my dad wants me to be his beach partner when I get older (he plays in tournaments). What can I do to practice? Thank you !

Where can I get tapes/DVDs of olympic indoor men's volleyball games?
if it is hurting your arms you can get arm guards which are also used when playing football i know my brother wore them but they help a lot . as for some practicing ideas, you can practice throwing the volleyball up in the air and "setting" which is is when you put your hands together so that there is a diamond shape opening in between. you can also throw up the volleyball and just practice "bumping" which is making a fist with both hands and bumping the ball over the net. to practice serving you may want to have someone else with you and you serve the ball and they catch it and just practice doing that repeatedly.u learn to not feel the pain when you play longer
Vball.bumps and serves?also basic vball rules?
well im in my schools volleyball team and i no wat u mean but the only i can tell u is that u are going to get use to the paincheck to see if the ball you are using is a correct ball. i recommend the mikasa varsity series, around 30-50 dollars apeice, but they are extremely good for training and whatnot.
If you play indoors, get any kind of tachikara balls, also around 30-50 dollars.
Also, make sure you are hitting the ball correctly, make sure to turn your arms outwards and hit wih the fleshy insides of your arms, and make sure you are hitting the ball with your forearms only, not your wrists or higher up.
Well for one, you will get use to the ball when it hits you, your forearms should just hurt for a week or two. And it's good that your forearms hurt because that means your passing correctly.
To practice you can just continue to pass with your dad, and since your only 8 i think you just need to learn the basics right now, such as the footwork, and such.
HAve your dad help you, if he plays in tournaments he should know the footwork...
Good luck!
How do i make a wrist corasage?
Just keep on practicing. The longer you play you learn not to feel the pain anymore. It sounds weird but you just don't notice it if you love the sport enough. Why cant i ever make a volleyball team??
wow! only 8 years old! i'd say to join a club team but since you are 8 you can't.. i think the best way to get better is to keep passing. pretty soon your arms get tougher and you wont notice the pain! stick with it because volleyball is the best thing to happen to people! you will be a fenomenal player when you get older if you keep practicing! i wish indiana had a beach so i could play on a beach instead of a gym!ANYONE from NEW ENGLAND who plays VOLLEYBALL?
I started playing when I was about your age! Even now, when I start the season my arms get red for about the first 2-3 days, then it goes away after that. Just keep practicing passing and setting. If you can get into a gym I would say practice serving a little. Your dad sounds like he plays a lot, so get him to help you! Where I live, we have club teams/clinics for girls your age. See what there is around your neck of the woods as far as camps and clinics. They really help!In volleyball can a person deliberately strike the ball with ones foot?
hey cupcakes!trust me... the pain gets easier.
i play volleyball and i learned at a clinic. they teach you all the skills you need to be a succesfull player. at the clinic try and ask a lot of questions. try to get to know they coaches if its your school team. they might put you on the team if they see your progression. or you could play for a non- competive league, like the ymca. have fun. look forward to seeing you on tv at the beach!
Why always the setters should be on the right side of the court?
Hey! Don't worry about your arms hurting for a while. Once you devolpe a passion for the sport, you don't notice it anymore! Ask your dad to show you how to set, and practice against a wall. I did this all the time when I first started volleyball, and now I am a setter! And pass agains a wall too. Again, ask your dad for tips on how to move and stand. I'm sure your dad must be a good player to be in a tourney. Good luck to you!Volleyball cheers i need good ones!?
Hey, no worries, once you have played long enough, you won't be able to feel the pain, trust me! I've played for three years, I joined the team as soon as I was old enough...and I love it! If you practice often, once a day or so, after about 6 to 7 days, you won't feel the pain. Volleyball is a great sport, and it's so much fun to play. You will love it, but it takes a lot of time and effort. You really have to work at it, but it's well worth it. You'll also get to spend a lot of time with your dad! Have fun, and good luck, sweetie!More Questions & Answers...
