Check your stance, make sure your feet are squared, and then make sure you are squared to the basket, then you will shoot the ball, make sure you are not shooting from the hip but above your head, often what I do is make sure that my fingers are pointed at the basket after my release. Also make sure when you are at the apex of you jump that you snap your wrist and release you shot.
