Becoming a certified volleyball coach in honolulu hawaii?
be on your toes, get low and make sure your body is facing the destination you want it to go. because if yuor body is facing one way, it will go that way. it actually depends on where you are during your opponents attack. front row? you'd most likely be blocking unless the spike is coming from the outside left and you are right, which is where the setter is unless you are running a play in which the setter comes from backrow. if you are backrow. you really have to follow teh ball adn keep your eyes on the player and his/her body and hand. which ever direction her/his body is facing it is most likely going there. when you dig you must shrug your shoulders and bend those knees..remember..GET LOW AND DO NOT TRY DIGGING ON YOUR HEELS..good luck..Who's going to win the NCAA volleyball championship?
get really really low and aimThe best position is to be squarely facing your intended target with a "flat" surface for the ball to come off. The best is to pass a hard-driven spike.
It is not always possible for you to square up to your target (the setter). In those instances, you want to direct the ball there as best you can. But most of the time, when the opposing hitter is going up to hit, you should be square to your setter, watching the hit, and waiting for it to come to you. It is called being in your position. I can only think of a few times when I wasn't facing my setter to pass the ball to her. I am sure it happens, but in those instances, you improvise. You may not get it right to your setter. You also may get it to a spot where the setter can run it down, or someone else can step in and set (last resort).
Hope this helps.

I dont know whether to join volleyball or not?
Depends on where you are in the court ,in relation to the ball and to your setter, court body position and timing is everything. I wish I was able to type out the answer in full...you can email me if you wish and we can go thru some scenarios of play and I will try to describe how you can defend against a spike front or back row.How do you know if your in love?
Make sure your feet are both pointed at the setter. The lower you and your arms are, the more control you have over the ball. DON'T swing your arms.Don't you rednecks think its about time to get over Dale Earnhardt?
u just have to bunt it with out using too much forceface head on to the ball. be down low and ready to move or dive for the ball. keep yout platform straight and steady. DONT swing your arms, you'll shank the ball way out if u do.
How can I get better at jumping by not using the weight room.?
You have to be low and ready to sprawl out if its short. but make sure your hips are towards the setter and have your platform flat.p.s. make sure to be on your toes, not flatfooted, and dont be afraid of it.
When was volleyball first played by women in the olympics?
I was in this type of situation before and my coach told me to just get the ball under control and if the ball is too far to bump, then just set it in the air, but if its good enough to bump then just bump it towards the setter's position. If you have to set, then just set it in the air and make the setter work. If the setter is paying attention to what your doing then the setter will be there. The postiton you need to be should be up ont he net so you can block, but if you're going back to bump then you should have your knees bent and have your body kind of facing towards the setter position... Hope this HelpsYour asking a question requiring more than a simple answer; the skills area are what You develope; the technique area is the how too's; so, here is a how too and I hope ti works out;
if you in position 2 and the setter in in position 1 opposite court you need to "catch" the ball on the forearms, gentle gentle as the ball is moving fast, you need not give it more enregy by moving your arms at All, drop you left shoulder, move your right leg forward and guide the high velocity ball with your legs, legs, legs...did I say legs? Yes! Legs are your guidence device, your arms are a "catching device" and ever so gently you "guide the ball to the setter and your Offense is on the move with that Pass, Set - Hit offense; your legs are used to push, a slight push and not a rapid jerk, your arms are nuetral, they are soft boards to absorb all that high veloicity energy the ball brings with it.
(And Drop your Hips and the pass) moving under the ball and threw the ball
Have yopu ever seen a kid try to jerk a ball in a direction they want using their arms? The ball flys away to the cieling; remember, each high velocity ball cominng at you shall be a Bunt, and Not a Homerun...
drop the shoulder on the right and the ball goes right, on the left and the ball goes left...right foot forward, left shgoulder down, the ball goes left...
have fun
