always wanted to skimboard and my dad said he'd buy me a board to learn on. a Great skimboard for begginers, under $60. Im 100 pounds. thank you!

Skimboarding is awesome! You'll love it! I've been skimming for about three years now. I also weigh a hundred pounds and I'm 14. I don't really know what kind of board you should get. I got a wooden board to start out on. Now I have a fiberglass trick board, which is really awesome. I'd recommend going and trying it out on a friends board (if you know someone who'd let you try with their board). They might can help you out. Also, try going to a less crowded beach, especially if you don't really want everyone to see you fall, because I fell a lot the first few times I tried. Stick with it and I'm sure you'll love it!!skimboarding is one of the tightest water sports out there. ive been doing it for years and its really fun. if you live in oc, go to Corona Del Mar to skim cuz there's a little side beach where they wont hassle you if you skim during the day. other beaches they'll give you crap if you skim or surf before the sunsets but not on the side beach at Del Mar. For the board, go with a Victoria. THey sell those at Sunny Smith or any other board shops. their fairly inexpensive and they come in all sizes.
