I am searching for information on the 1896 Beachview Yackt Club Regatta...can anyone help me?

I have a 1896 Regatta loving cup trophy. This cup is a 1st place, Beachview Yackt Club, dated August 15, 1896 and was presented by a James D.(?) Kirby. If anyone knows any information on this, would you please let me know.
