One more for the scuba divers! How can I keep from getting "reg mouth" after diving?
Question:Compressed air is sooo dry that by the time I'm done diving--whether it's one dive or four--I have reg mouth... dry, yucky, I feel constantly thirsty. For example, all I did yesterday was pool dive to work on some skills, yet I still feel like my mouth is all dried up like a prune.
Any suggestions on how to combat "reg mouth"?
Thanks! :)

How do removeable surfboard fins work?
If you find a solution, other than bottled water, that works for everyone, let the masses know. :)Everyone's tastebuds are different. I've seen everything from chewing tobacco to vodka after a dive.
Just about all you can do to beat that dehumidified air in a can is to go into the dive well hydrated.
Hope the weekend dives went ok.
Depends where you dive, if you are diving in freshwater, I just loosen my lips a little to let a bit of water in and then purge. This doesnt taste so great in saltwater though. If you have some money and dive in tropical waters companies make moisture adding accessories for regs, such as the Apollo Sport Bio-Filter Regulator Moisture System, it retails for about 200 bucks, but alot of companies make similiar addons, some regs come with them built in. Some say they work some say they dont. I for one dont have the cash and the dryness doesnt bother me.
How old should you be to learn to surf?
it is very important to hydrate before the dive. Like the other said, I might let some water in my mouth and then spit it out. You might also be biting down harder than you need too which can also lead to a drier mouth. We all suffer from it, just something to get used tooMore Questions & Answers...
