There should be a "coast guard Plate" on the boat usually by the helm. This plate will list the max horse power rating, max people, and max load. It will be yellow and silver in color. If the plate is missing go to the coast guards web site, they have phone numbers for most boat manufactures. Call the maker of your boat and ask them the ratings and get a new plate while your on the phone with them.
