If it's a brand spankin new board, you'll want to buy a base coat and a coat of regular wax. Note: There are different wax formulas for particular water types. Visually split the board in half; the area that you'll apply wax to is the upper 3/4 of the lower half. The correct way to apply wax is in a small tight circular motion until your hand gets super tired and you get too ancy to try your new board.
