Is it hard for someone who knows how to sail to pick up windsurfing?

If I were buried up to my chin in wet sand, what would you do to me?
There are similarities such as assessing wind direction but any windsurfer will tell you that windsurfing is the purest form of sailing because you don't have a rudder so it is very different from that point of view.If you are reasonably co-ordinated and have decent balance you shouldn't have any problems learning to windsurf especially on the new equipment that is available now. I would recommend going along to a course at least to get the basics and then practise from there.
Good luck!

New 40 Hp 4 stroke Mercury, wont't crank, just loud beep.?
Probably easier to learn, as you have a knowledge of how to approach waves, and which way you want the sail to be to get where you want to with the wind directions.I love windsurfing, and I have done a little bit of sailing.
I have being sailing since I was a kid. I
ve tried windsurfing a number of times and did not succeed - its a different game. Windsurfing requires a lot more strength than sailing.
