I want to transition from a 9'0 surfboard to a shortboard, what surfboard should I get next?

Question:Some useful info about me that may help:
1. I'm a girl and would like ease in paddling
2. Waves at my home break are usually about 3-5 feet only
3. I'm 5'2" and weigh 115 lbs.

I'm looking at a 6'6" swallowtail 22 3/8" wide. What do you think?

Answers:

USED KAYAK? I am intereseted in a used kayak.?

6'6" is an awesome length. Just make sure its not to floaty. Makes it harder to makes it harder to ride on crublie waves

I need a new boat. Where is the best place to get a boat?

I'd try a 7'6" egg/fun shape. You lose a lot of inches going from a 9'0" to a 6'6" but if you're experienced enough and willing to start from scratch again, go for it. 7'6" fun shape is the ultimate transition board - once you're comfy on that, going down to a 6'6" wont be so hard.

I would try out a friends board beofre you purchase a board. you really need to be sure you're getting whats right because they cost so freakin' much!

Just Remember - Inches make a difference.

Good luck!
