By skiing I assume you mean water skiing, right? If this is the case, i usually start soon after I get my boat in the water (mid-late May). However, I live in southern New England, so depending on your location you might want to start sooner or later. I know my answer is sort of vague, but I hope it helps.Depends on where you live.
Contact your local area news station via internet email and ask them what the water temps are in the lakes in that area.
if you are ready, the boat is in the water, and you have everything you need...go for it. If the water is cold have a wet suit. As long as the lake is open I say SKI!

I am a catamaran sailor and with the proper gear I go year round. Wetsuit for up to 70 degrees with water temps in the mid 50s. Dry suit for below 60 air temp and under 55 water temp. Have fun.More Questions & Answers...
