Are you talking just the rod? Or, the reel as well? First, if it is really badly corroded, your best bet is to take it to a reel repair shop. Any local tackle store can direct you to one. If it isn't too bad, some WD40 with a wash cloth. Not the smooth kind, but one with texture. Let the WD sit for about an hour and a little elbow grease will take it offIs it okay to wear a parka after you get out of the ocean?
