Why do people surf early in the morning?
Do people surf early in the morning because the waves are better, or because the ocean is less crowded?

I haven't had time for myself in months. My wife to go on a cruise..I'd rather be fishing...help!!?
The waves are always their biggest at dawn and dusk but beating the crowds makes sense too.Are speedos supposed to show your...?
both, in Hawaii many locals will surf before work to beat the crowds and enjoy the early day sun.i think because the waves are better and it is less crowded
When bodyboarding, how should I position myself on the board when riding a wave?
Yes both are correct.Do you have to wax wakeboards?
Its good to be on a beach early....cause it charges u with new zeal for the life.I think it's a bit of both but I can't imagine a surfer getting up without a good awareness of time and tide. And if you really live in a great location, you may just be able to hear the waves without having to get out of bed!
Bass fishing vs crappie fishing?
Cause they have jobs from 9-5 like the rest of us ;-)Has anyone experience of a Autohelm 3000 with GPS please?
There is usually no wind early in the morning so the ocean surfer is glassier. In places where the wind is predominantly offshore, people go surfing later.Best beaches in NO. Cal to go Skimboarding/surfboarding?
Generally the weather conditions are best in the morning, especially the wind or lack there of. A light offshore breeze can produce glass like conditions on the water. Smooth waves are much better than choppy conditions. From what I have experienced, lineups are less crowded on dawn patrols. Personally I would rather take a nap in the afternoon so I can enjoy glassy conditions in the early morning. Tide conditions play a big part too.I am 5,0' & weigh 100 lbs. What kind of board should i get?
"Jason" and "rydalguy" are right. all the other answers are dead wrong. It may ave been misprinted, but that "Jason" guy said "glassy SURFER" and he means "glassy SURFACE (as in ocean surface)". And for that "rydal" guy after "Jason", dude, offshore breeze or wind doesn't ONLY blow in the A.M. and it CERTAINLY isn't the reason the ocean surface goes "glassy". As a matter of fact, it's the opposite. Wind, no matter from which direction it comes from will ALWAYS result in a "texture" on the surface. But besides these minor corrections, "Chicago Michele (with one 'L', eh?)" those two guys gave you the original TRUE reason for surfing in the A.M.!
