ADVANTAGES: This particular rig has been working for hundreds of years. You almost can't go wrong. Simple and deadly. A "sinker-slide", a "Pyramid" sinker, and a "Circle" hook can catch a variety of fish including, Sheep-head, Redfish, Trout, Drum, Catfish, Croakers, Whiting, ETC.DISADVANTAGES: There really aren't many. It depends on where, and WHAT you are fishing for.
Then again, If you mean this Q as an analogy, many MEN/WOMAN get "caught" "hook line & sinker", so it must work VERY well! lol
