What does cavatate mean?
pontoon boat cavatates more than it should
Answers:
The problem with the pontoon boat could be the angle of the engine, the pitch of the prop, the depth of the engine. You may need a long shaft engine.
cavitate, cavitation A type of drag on a caused by air bubbles forming near the tips of a propeller that is spinning too fast. This causes inefficiencies and unnecessary wear and tear on the propeller.

YOU SHOULD GET IT FIXED Immediately!!
if you do not get it fixed it could end up costing ALOT of money down the road!

Fix cavitations problems before it become a more expensive repair! The term "cavitate" refer to having cavitations at the propeller and occurred when water is vaporizing or "boiling" due to the extreme reduction of pressure on the back of the propeller blade. Improper propeller style matching to application, incorrect pitch, and physical blade damage can cause cavitations.
Sometime propellers partially cavitate during normal operation, but excessive cavitations can result in metal erosion or "cavitations burn" to the prop's blade surface.
Selecting the right propeller style and size will maximize performance for your boat, while allowing your engine to operate in the recommended RPM range, it will prevent the engine from over-revving too!
Boats prop cavitations should be corrected as soon as possible!
