If you are a Christian, Jew or Muslim then you believe that Adam was the first man and Eve was created as the first woman you be his companion. The Bible does not specify whether God created men and women outside of the Garden of Eden or when, but cane married someone when he was exiled for killing able, so it's possible that God created other humans at some time (course Cane could have just married a sister we don't know about...)I cannot speak for Jews or Muslims, or even for all Christians, but I was always taught that God created the world for humankind to have someplace to live, and God created humankind for companionship. The angels were given one choice and once they chose to follow or rebel that's it. They're kind of like powerful messengers and soldiers, but humans have full ability to make decisions for themselves. God know what they will choose because God is omniscient, but God does not force a choice on humans. In a sense it's like the different b/w talking to a robot that you've only given the ability to accept certain input or talking to another person. God wanted someone to someone He could share His wonders with and have them appreciate them as they were due.
