What is the length of an official olympic swimming pool?

Answers:

Can anyone recommend a good sailing magazine or book?

From wikopedia:

The FINA specifications for an Olympic pool are as follows:

Length: 50 m
Width: 25 m
Number of lanes: 8
Lane width: 2.5 m
Water temperature: 25 °C - 28°C
Light intensity: >1500 lux
Depth: 2.0 m minimum

There must be two spaces 2.5 m wide outside lanes 1 and 8 (in effect, two empty lanes). Also, the 50 metres length must be between the touch pads, if they are used.

50m.

Actually, how would americans measure it? It would be something weird like 160 feet or 40.354 yards maybe.
