I plan on going to the lake one of these days. Is there something I should know about a skiboat ...?
Question:And Waterskis, wakeboard, tube. If this is my first time, is there any advice?
--how much rope should I give the person?
--What happens if the person falls?
--if you fall of the ski, does it hurt?
Thanks

Why is kneeboarding in the ocean not a popular sport?
1. Rope length depends on sport. Tube (60' at 15 - 25 mph), wakeboarding (60' - 80' at 19 - 23 mph), waterski (40'+ feet at about 25 - 35 mph)2. When a rider falls, cut the throttle to neutral, turn and return to the rider, keeping the rider on the driver side of the boat, round the rider and return the handle (if skiing or wakeboarding) to the rider idle to remove slack when rider is ready, proceed, or return the tube to the rider, allow them to get in and remove slack from the rope, when rider is ready, proceed.
3. Depends on how you hit the water, if the board or ski catches an edge, how far and hard you fall if wakeboarding or tubing and how fast you are moving.
I have to agree, you need to go out with an experience boater or else you can get into some serious trouble. Not necessarily from riding or pulling a rider, but with the boat itself. Learn what to do by someone who knows how to handle a boat properly and take some boating safety classes before attempting it yourself. Good luck.
Socal surf and sport, laguna niguel california?
1.give the person all the rope, 2.if they fall go pick them up, 3.it depends how fast you are goingi recomend going out with an experienced boater the first few times, it will save a world of hassle
Just make sure the length of the boat is appropriate to the size of the lake. If you decide to open her up you will need plenty of space.
As far as does it hurt to fall. The only real answer I can give is, sometimes.
