How do you get old wax off of ur surf board?
i know that there are different ways to get rid of the old wax but i want to know how others do it? any ideas?

No No No They got it all wrong! Well no they don't but the easiest fastest way to do it is to get a blow dryer and blow dry over the surfboard while you wipe off the melting wax with a spunge or a towel. I used a small thin towel and it worked like a charm.Wheres your best place to go surfing?

i live in NC and surf quite a bit in the small waves at sunset beach.i know that using an old credit card, or something like that, will take that wax right off, that is, with a little work. for best results make sure the board is wet. then it should come off a little easier.

The best way is to put it deck up in the sun for a few minutes until it gets really soft, then scrape off with an old credit card. Then you can wipe off the residue with acetone dampened cloth for a clean finish.What when your boyfriend builds model sailboats?
Try with a newspaper over the wax and then heat it up usin the clothes iron the wax should stik on the news paper.Waxcomb or credit card. If you want to take off ALL the wax, scrape what you can of then try lime juice. Softens the wax so it just slides off. But be careful and quick as it is acidic. Wipe down with water to clean after.
Physically what impacts will the boat race have on the crews during and after the race?
I've used a wax comb, old CC card, CD covers, plastic rulers, whatever is hard plastic with a nice solid edge will work. After removing the bulk of the wax I just use papertowels and some elbow grease to remove the leftover wax film. I can get the board shiny and ready for a fresh coat this way. It's not as fast as using chemicals but it also gives you a good chance to closely inspect your board for any dings.More Questions & Answers...
