Is it true that a lot of ice skating will build up your leg muscles?

The size of snowboard that you buy basically is decided upon by five different factors your height, your weight, your foot size also the type of riding you want to do, and the level you are at ie beginneer, intermediate etc. From your height and weight that you have given i would recomend going for a board between 162 - 166, and as you are just getting into snowboarding i would recomend going for a beginneers level all mountain board. All mountain boards are a good board to go for when you are just starting snowboarding as they are a good all round board which can be used for both freestyle and freeriding. You havent mentioned your foot size but its important to take this into account as if your feet over hang your board too much you will be dragging your toes in the snow, whilst on the other hand if your board is too wide for you, you wont be as quick turning edge to edge. A general rule is you should allow about 1 cm overhang on either side of the board. The best way to find out if a board is the right width for you is to take your boots with you when buying and actually place them on the board itself to check the width is right. All begineer snowboards are reasonablly cheap to buy, i would recomend that you don't buy a secondhand board at the moment as its highly likely it wont be the right board for you size or level wise. Instead go and buy an entry level board from a proper snowboard shop, who will give you good advice on what to buy and pick out a board that suits you.

Help finding Transformer snowboard?!?

the general rule i know of it that it should be about as long as your wingspan. both arms held straight out from your sides.

Do you think iceskating is fun?

everyboard has it's own weight range.. contrary to popular belief, it has nothing to do with height. look online for a calculator that you enter your weight and it gives you a range.

Why do you skate?

I have the same dimensions and I ride a 164cm, the thing is mean.

Why is there no tv coverage of the men's world curling championship? Or is there ?

snowboards are always measured in centimeters. like a 155 is 155cm long. you probably should get a board in the early 160s like 160- 165. don't listen to anyone who tells you the snowboard should be to your chin. its just not true. snowboard size depends a little on height, but mostly on weight. you seem a little heavy for your height, so if you did that, the board would be too short

Want to buy a snowboard..?

it should reach your chin when you stand it up
