OK SKiing in FERNIE or LAke Loise?
Question:Hi Guys. If I have a chance to go skiing at Lake Loiuse or FERNIE BC, which would be the preferred choice?? I am not really into the crowds in Banff..but the best skiing is the ultimate goal. I HATE groomed trails. I like lots of powder and glades and that type of thing.

I have heard from people that Fernie is the place to go.
Tough call. They are both pretty good hills. I think maybe Fernie, but you would be happy at either.

This time of year I would head out to Fernie, Louise starts to melt pretty bad at this time of a year and you can even have rain for the day because they are at a lower elevation. Trust me on this one I have been going to the mountains riding for over 15 years and this is from experience!!How long as Evan Lysacek and Tanith Belbin been dating, also how they did they meet anyway?
Gday - ive just returned from Alberta and BC, and I really think if you want to have more room, your better off going to Fernie, but Lake Louise is pretty spectacular! Have a great time when you get there!Can I wear my wellington boots in the snow?
Wow, tough choice. But being an avid skier for the last 25 years and visiting both these resorts regularly, I would have to say that Lake Louise is a better choice. Even though you may find a few more people, the terrain and choice of runs is far greater. Dont get me wrong, Fernie is a nice place too, but Louise is World Class! You may not find a whole lot of powder (depending on the weather) but overall Louise scores a higher rating than Fernie.You should let us know how your trip goes!
