I recently bought some of the 2 piece universal skate guards. How do I cut them to fit my blades?

An exacto knife is the way we cut them in the pro shop where I have worked. There are scores on the bottom of the skate guards and what you do is fit the toe pick section first, then put the other half of the guard on the heel end of the Blade you want to cut them so that there is a slight gap when you stand. If you are an adult skater most likely you will not need to cut them.What did Sasha Cohen skate to at the Olympic 2006 gala?
