How can I try to sky at home?!?

Before going to sky for the first time ( I'll stay in mountain 4 a week), is there any thing I should be able to do or I should know?

Whats a good age to start a child skiing, snowboarding, etc?

If you already have the equipment, you may want to familiarize yourself with it first. Try putting the boots on and walking around in them. Take your skis outside and put them on the grass or on level snow-covered ground and figure out how to snap into them and pop them off (press down on the binding lever at the back of the ski binding with a ski pole). You could also try to see if you can stand up from a sitting position while you have your skis on. Personally, after 10 years of skiing, I still have to take one ski off in order to stand up (pathetic, I know, too big in the bucket I guess).

If you don't have the equipment yet (you're going to rent once you get there), just make sure you know what you're going to wear in order to stay warm. Many layers with good wicking synthetic fabrics closest to the skin is the way to go. A hat or a helmet is also the best thing you can wear to stay warm.

In terms of physical preparation, make sure you do some stretching in the weeks beforehand to loosen up your muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Best way to prevent an injury is to have good flexibility.

Can someone give me tips on snowboarding?

I assume that you mean ski - no there isn't really anything you can do to get ready, just relax and enjoy it. Just make sure you have water proof gloves, pants and jacket or your experience might be miserable.

Besides Dujo's great answer - just make sure to get lessons your first time!

Feel free to read a few of my other answers in this category. I have typed up a lot of information about that!

Make sure you wear gloves or mittens (even if it's hot) - snow is sharp and will cut your skin. Wear layers of clothes, so if you get hot in the lesson, you can take your jacket off, maybe a sweater too, and still be comfortable. Wear one pair of thin socks. No matter the cold, thick socks, or multiple layers of thin socks, will cut off circulation to your feetsies!

Have fun!
