If it's best snow, you're likely to find that most resorts will have good snow, depending on the time of year, though, snow may be better in some resorts. Best skiing depends on your expertise -- beginners and intermediates will find Beaver Creek and Vail are nice with many beginner and intermediate choices, experts may prefer Winter Park.
Best prices for lodging, if you're interested in bang for buck, is probably Breckenridge. Keystone is a good deal if you're looking for accommodations for families like condominiums, since there are a lot of them. If you're looking for pampering, then Beaver Creek is the best choice.
As for cheapest rentals, you'll definitely save money in Denver at most ski shops that offer it. In fact, if you drive down I70 to the resorts of Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Copper, you'll see a large ski rental on the way that is cheap.
