Where to ski / snowboard?
I would say around 152 - 155 and a width of 252 mm. For recommended snowboards, check out Frosty Rider's Snowboard Sizing Calculator here

It is easy, just put in your height, weight, boot size, gender, and skill level and it will tell you the right length and width of board for you. It will even recommend snowboards for you to buy.
Any advice for getting off the lifts?
I Had a nidecker and i liked that a lot, but right now i have a GNU and it is by far the best thing ever. My friend has a sapient and that thing is a very close second. I would also recommend Technine bindings with a toe strap.
