Any Tahoe resorts open in November?
I've been snowboarding for about 5 years now and I've learned some things the hard way. I've had a bruised tail bone (which most people get their first day out), a dislocated shoulder, a mild concusion, and a broken hand. I did all of this on different jumps. Basically learn to jump on a small jump and increase your speed and the size of the jumps you're hitting as you get more comfortable. When you start snowboarding be mentally prepared for a challenge. It usually takes at least a full day to catch on (and often times a few days). You want to practice staying on the edge of your board and turning to stop. Once you can go a short distance and stop, practice edging down on your toe side and then transfering your weight to your heals (making you turn the other direction slightly) and edging on your heals. Going back and forth smoothly from heal to toe and back is called carving. That's the first thing you want to learn to do when you start snowboarding.
Good Luck!
remenber to always strap up ur laces and wear a helmate or else ur really gonna get hurt!

watch out 4 those trees : )Where can I buy figure skating dresses?
I have only gone a few times, but I found it easier to learn on the hills, rather than the bunny slope. Remember to try and fall on your butt, not your hands, thats how you break your wrists. Remember to be on your toes as you go across the mountain looking uphill, and use the heel edge as you look down the mountain. How do i do backwards crossovers??
Smoothly rotate your hips in the direction you want to go - use your leading hand to point to where you're heading to help.keep your knees bent and relaxed, allowing your legs to absorb the bumps in the snow.
When you finish one turn and you want to initiate the next, lift your weight, rotate your hips, then sink your weight down again.
Enjoy!
What is a good wide snowboard that can do it all?
Were you sore the day after? My first day, I learned how to fall lik ea leaf which is easy to learn but you never want to use your toes because you don't feel as stable. Make sure your body is strong, your core, your calves, thighg, and but and worked out and that you are really well stretched before. I've been injured like crazy, concussion, bruised tailbone, strained both ankels and my wrists, tore my hamstring, and I fell on a rail on my eye. But it's so worth it if you stick with it.You aren't ever going to be perfect your first time out, you've got to remember that. Just keep trying and keep going up. The second time is a lot worse because you're sore and tired from the first time. But at least you know what to expect. Pratice your balance, and keep your body loose and strong and you'll do great.
Get a lesson next time. The instructors are trained to teach you in a way that will cause you to learn the right way!
What do you know about figure skating?
well if you have only gone once the big thing you have to work on is getting comfortable on both edges. i know people who have been snowboarding 3-5 years and are still not comfortable on their front edge, and that can be a problem going around some corners and some tricks and rotations. and if you feel like your going to much out of controll STOP! if you dont feel in controll try to stop to regain controll and whatever you do dont fall on your backside cause then you just slide and its almost impossible to stop when your sliding on your backside.hope this helped
