I just got a 2006 Burton Custom snowboard. I own Switch Clicker bindings. How do I make them fit?

Is the rust just along the bottom edges? When you get them sharpened, the rust should come off.

You can use steel wool, 0000 steel wool, but afterwards, you'll need to get them sharpened.

If the rust is on the sides, use the steel wool. If it doesn't remove all the rust from the sides, don't worry about it. It shouldn't affect your skating unless it's on the bottom edges.

In the future, as you've learned, dry your skates well after use. Use a terry cloth washcloth or towel. Once you get the skates home, take them out of the bag until they're well dry. Don't store them in the hard plastic guards. You can store them in soakers - terrycloth covers.

Also, are these expensive skates, where you bought the boot and the blade separately and had them assembled? If so, be sure to treat the leather of the bottom soles of the skates with Sno Seal or equivalent, to keep the moisture out. (The pro at the place where you bought them may have already done this, so you may not have to worry about it.) And when you dry your blades after skating, also dry the soles.

Best way- depending on how rusty they are- is a fine grit sandpaper or steel wool. If they're going to be in storage a good coating of oil like 3-in-1 should prevent rust- Vaseline works too but it's a pain to remove.

I Bought a Burton Snowboard Last year and i haven't used it yet , Do I need to get it waxed before i use it?

Just simply get them sharpened. The best way to prevent rust is to wipe down your blades with a cloth after using and putting soft covers on them. You should only use the hard ones to walk around in.

What is the average snowfall at the Durango (pergatory) ski resort located in Colorado Ski Country?

When you put your skates away in between practise's....do not leave your guards on..after practise dry your blades off with a cloth..make sure you dry them completely.then cover your blades with cloth blade cover to protect them...
Your blades are rusty because you stored them wet..not good.
Get them sharpened...and start wearing you guards only for walking around in..

Good Luck to you and your skating!

Bring them to your rink to get them sharpened. Here it costs like $5, and it will help. Also, take off the gaurds and put the cloth ones on when you're not wearing them. Good luck skating!
