I need a new snowboard...any ideas?
I don't know much about buying a snowboard and brands. I want to buy a board for christmas and have no idea what kind of board to buy or company. Im looking for a good price for a pair of boots, bindings and the board. I'm not looking for a professional board or planning on doing any major jumps. I Just want something i can use to get down the mountain and do small jumps with/boxes. I'm 6'1 and weigh about 160 with a size 12 shoe if that has anything to do with the board. Used boards are alright too, any help? Thanks

Can you wax your snowboard with skate wax? if so, How??
Ride and santa cruz are great brands. and even their lowest end model is way better than any board you will ever find at wall-mart or big 5. if you buy any board at wall-mart or big 5 dont expect it to last more than about 2 seasons. try finding a higher end brand board on ebay or a nice used board works great also. The board size you will want is about a 159 and you can give or take 2 cm each way but if your a beginner try to get a 159 to 161. with bindings you're going to want to get "large" bindings. you can go with a wide board if you want to be safe with no toe drag, but im 6'0, 170lb and size 12 boot and i have no problem with a regular board.
How do you get involved in skiing competitions so one day I may compete in the olympics?
Wal-MartTry the Sports Authority - not only do they have a selection of snowboarding equipment, they have trained personnel who can assist you in picking the right gear - if you already do know what you want - you can try to price it on eBay too - sometimes you can get a good deal there - but watch those shipping costs!
