Prospective figure skater?

I have started to go to the gym every day for two hours because even though in my town there isn't a thing in which someone can learn to skate i want very much to go to learn. I am 17 years old and that thing was created a year ago in the capital which is 2 hours from my place. I wasn't able at all to learn because i wanted to skate since 14 years old and there wasn't that. And i want to compete one day. Do i have possibilities to succeed that or should i forget it once and for all?

I'm gonna ski. Does anyone know if it is a good idea to buy DAMAGE WAIVER for $3 for the equipment?

Chances are slim, I am 27 and I don't even plan on skating competetivly, I do it because I love it, and someday I could possibly teach classes. I mean shese I teach my friends the basics so they don't fall on their butts, and I am teaching my daughter because she wants to do it, do it because you love it not just because you want to compete...

How safe is it to buy a demo snowboard?

You wouldn't be able to compete because most competitive skaters began when they were preschoolers. But you can still skate for the love of it and keep improving. You could become a skating teacher or manage a skating program. When you graduate from school, move to a town that has an ice rink so you can learn to skate.

Shot gun info?

If you can't go atleast twice a week then you probably can't get too serious. You could get into shows, but most competitive skaters have been skating sice they learned to walk. Sorry to crush your hopes, but in reality it may not be possible.

A ski resort near tahoe friendly to young kid (3.5 years old)?

In the USFSA they are now adding more competive areas for adult skaters. So if you really want to skate and compete look up more info from the internet. Try searching under USFSA or ISI. Good luck.

Why do snowboarders need snowboard bags?

Don't ever forget it, if it is your dream. Of course you can compete. Usually rinks have small competitions where anyone can compete. Don't expect to go to the Olympics, but, believe me, any competition at your local rink is fun to go to, and you have a chance of winning. And you should always compete for fun. Not because you want a medal.

Can anybody give me any tips for snowboarding. i desperately need some help because i ran into a tree lol.:)?

You can still compete in adult competitions in USFSA and ISI.

What type of ski do you recommend? It's summer, best time to get cheap deals and get ready for winter!?

You can be a competitive skater at any age no matter what anybody tells you. There is competitions for adults that include National and International competitions. The issue that I see here is that you live so far from a rink. If you are willing to make the commute for lessons and practice more power to you. You should look for adult skating class's at your nearest rink and enjoy a lifetime of figure skating.

Looking for a mans fleece jacket with a horizontal front pocket. Anyone know of any web sites I might try?

okay... if you want to take up skating, definitely do it! dont let age or whatever stop you... however what im going to suggest as far as competing is to get a coach and compete at a recreational level. the reason i say this is because to compete you need to pass tests to enter at certain levels, and they can get you on your way...also i say to try recreational competing because it really doesnt matter how old you are, how good you are, and all that jazz... for serious competitve skating (what you see on tv), it takes skaters several years of intense training to get to that point. so i dont by any means wish to shoot down your dreams to suceed in competitive skating, but im going to stongly suggest what i have above... not only will you have more fun, you will accomplish everything it seems you want to...and who knows maybe you will be a crazy fast learn and in 2 years you will have mastered what most do in at least 10 years and your coach will put you into competitive skating! good luck!
