What kind of ski/snowboard helmet do you suggest?
i'm looking at a giro encore helmet and it is very good looking and a great price. any other suggestions.

The Giro Encore is exactly what I have... it is indeed a very good helmet and I also got it at a decent price... good venting, great fit, and removable ear flaps... HIGHLY recommended!I have the white one... slap a few stickers on it for a more personalized look and ride on!

R.E.D.- those are good helmets. i sport oneSweet protection makes the cooles helmet on the market, but it will cost you, the giro are really good though, especially with the tune ups headphone features. the nine and the fuse are probably your best options, the bad lieutenant looks cool but is actually really hot (no vents) and heavy

What's the difference between a men's snowboard and a women's?
I've been using a Nine for the past 4-5 seasons. Love it because of the very functional venting system and because the ear flaps can be removed for late spring conditions.Whichever model you get, be sure there is adequate venting. Be sure to buy at a reputable store so they can help with the fit.

The most important thing is to get the correct fit. It should be snug but not so tight that it will cause discomfort. It also needs to fit in the correct orientation around your head. If you buy your helmet at a local snowsport shop you have a better chance at getting some good advice. I personally wouldn't buy a helmet on-line because every style fits differently. It great if you can find one that looks good but it is critical to find the right fit.
