Is it hard to become ski patrol?

I am a good skier and know that I meet those qualifications. I know that a lot of times they require EMT training. But is it hard to get hired?

Answers:

Could someone give me information about characteristics of snowboard burton republik?

I've been a volunteer and paid ski patroller for 15 years and from my experience it varies by mountain. The largest, "big name" mountains will expect experience or EMT certification. Many mid-sized mountains are large enough to have on-the-job training and struggle to find employees. If you are interested in the Sierras of California, I believe June Mountain hires like that (but don't quote me).

The best way may be to contact the NSP in Denver and ask them to connect you with a OEC (Outdoor Emergency Care) class that will start this fall in your area. (It's EMT training for ski patrollers.)

With OEC or EMT you can start at a mid-sized mountain without having to train on the job (which means you are a grunt worker hauling sleds around for your first year).

Good luck

And to answer your question "is it hard to get hired"... the answer is "no". It doesn't pay well so resorts are usually dealing with a lot of turn-over and are always looking to hire.
