What strong muscle groups should a good snowboarder posses?
You could profile some of the riders - Shaun White is known for being awesome in the pipe and also really young, Danny Kass also started up Grenade clothing and is generally really cool. As to where to go - loads of people are talking about all these new resorts starting up around Eastern Europe, so you could look at what's going on there. Northern Japan is meant to have awesome snow. As well as all the usual places - the Alps in Europe (Switzerland and Italy as well as France). In the US, the resorts that have really embraced snowboarding are places like Mammoth in California and Park City and Snowbird in Utah (the East coast tends to be a bit icy for a lot of snowboarders). What to wear - the baggier the better, and as many loud colours as you can find! For girls, Nikita is a really cool line; for boys I reckon 686 is the best.Where is the best place to Ski in US?
Snowboarding originated in the U.S. in the 1960's. Early boards were very rudimentary in design compared to the models available today. More recent designs reflect the variety of riding styles that have emerged within the sport.Snowboarding made its Olympic debut in the 1998 Winter Games in Nagano, Japan with a total of four competitions divided into two categories: men's & women's halfpipe and men's & women's giant slalom. Read more about the history of snowboarding in the OlympicsSnowboarding is a sport that is loosely described as “surfing” in the snow and can be dated back to at least the 1960s in its earliest development, when it was a much cruder sport with very elementary equipment. However, when snowboarding made its debut at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Japan, it became one of the fastest growing sports in the United States. Snowboarding now holds the interest of over 7 million participants in the U.S. alone, and many skiers and skateboarders have crossed over to this no longer crude extreme sport. After snowboarding debuted in the 1998 Olympics with two events, it returned in the 2002 and 2006 Olympic games. In Italy in 2006, snowboarding consisted of four events in both men’s and women’s competition. The sport is slated to continue to grow in both participants and popularity for future winter games. As a professional sport, snowboarding is governed by the International Snowboarding Federation (ISF).
Snowboarding, like skiing, is a winter sport that’s difficult to participate in where snow is not prevalent. However, most ski resorts in the United States also have slopes dedicated to snowboarding. There is less gear required for snowboarding than skiing, with the board being the primary piece of equipment. Burton is the most popular board company, started by snowboarding pioneer Jake Burton Carpenter in the late 1970s.
