Why do my hands turnout when my feet turn in to do a wedge turn in skiing?

This is common in young children, but adults display the same biomechanic movement. I think it has to do with gravitational rotation. Where can I find more info geared to the lay person? I do this and have been skiing for 50years.

Probably compensation for an unnatural move...it doesn't feel right, so your body tries to compensate for it.
