What do I need to wear just to play in the snow?
I am going to VA in the winter and I am not going to ski but I will get in the snow with my son to play. Do I need a whole snow suit? What do I need?

I think you will need snow pants, otherwise if you don't wear them your pants will get very cold and wet, a warm jacket, and gloves that are water resistant, because again if you don't your hands will get cold and wet, and a head band or hat for your ears, and maybe some snowboots, if you don't want to buy snow boots, wear hiking books with 2 or if you can 3 pairs of socks and you probably want to wear some longer pants under your snow pants and tuck the pants underneath your snow pants into your socks otherwise get snow in your ankles which isnt very fun, and put your gloves on first then put on your coat that way your gloves will be tucked in your coat and snow won't be able to get in, but I do have to say its very hard not to get snow in your socks and hands, so dont worry about it too much.How is the skiing at Devil's Head Resort.?

in the mountains here in western NC, i play with my daughter alot, and i have really needed pants that keep me dry---we roll around and sled alot, and without those pants, i get soaked and freeze my hindquarters off! good luck...What is a better ski resort for 1st time skiiers?Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead or Mammoth?
a snow suit is a good idea or you'll get wet and cold.you will need gloves or mittens to keep your hands warm and a good pair of warm boots or winter shoes with nice warm socks for your feet.
i live in ND and i know how cold it gets lol, well i would wear a whole snow suit and alot of clothing underneath, you can always take a layer off, but if you dont have enough on, you will get cold and it will be no fun, also warm boots and a hat because most of your body heat releases from your ears and toes, hope you have fun!!

Make sure you have good boots and gloves. Nothing ruins playing in the snow faster than getting cold hands or feet. Make sure your gloves are waterproof - non-waterproof gloves soak through in about 5 minutes. Other than that, you should be good in jeans and a winter coat. If you don't want snowpants, you can always wear a pair of tights or leggings under your jeans. It will help keep you warmer.Have fun! :)

if u just wanna play in the snow u should geta training suit (the reason y so u dont get wet inside cause training suit doesnt absorb the snow).
a boot to make sure ur foot r warm enough
a glove
a sunscreen
and basically anything u need 2 make ur body warm and wont get u wet.

If there is a good amount of snow or you will be sledding a snowsuit can be helpful. But it is not needed. A winter coat and a good pair of gloves. Maybe some thermal underwear under your clothes. Boots are more important or you will have cold wet feet fast.a few sweatshirts and a few pairs of sweat pants gloves and warm boots and a hat.
