Snowboard Size question?
I'm looking into a Burton Custom X . I am 5'11 190 and boots are 11.5US. Would a 160cm or a 164cm be a better fit? I ride just about everything except rails. Would a wide board like a Baron ES be better or unnecessary?

You and I are about the same size with the exception that I am able to cram my foot into boot size 9.5. Either of those lengths will work well for you but you are on the cusp of needing at the least a mid-wide board. With a good, low-profile boot...you should be fine on either. If you are unsure go with the 164 and if you really want to be sure you have no toe or heel drag get the Baron ES. It is exactly the same as the Custom X it is just wider. Go to a store and check to make sure you don't have any over hang with your boots. An extra wide board will take care of that problem and will give you some extra float in the deep POW, but a narrower board may transfer edge to edge a fraction quicker that the wide ones. A good site to review boards and other gear at is http://www.eternalsnow.com/Also look for boots that fit but have as narrow a profile as possible. When you have bigger feet, this will keep more of a selection viable for you to try.

The only way to be absolutely sure would be to size the board with your boots and bindings. There's a 1cm difference between the waist width on the Custom X 160 and the Baron 159 and, at your shoe size, that could be a big difference.In terms of length, at your weight, you could rock a 160 or a 164 Custom X so you should chose the one which best suits your riding style and needs.
