Some professional advice please: I really want to do figure skating (including competing), but I'm already 17
i had a pretty tough time finding figure skating coaches and lessons in my area. now i've found them, and my dream is to compete. people have told me i might be too old for competing, and especially for the olympics. but i already know some stuff and i'm getting better and better. i have the flexibility and the determination, and i think i could make it. as for the money, i figured out that the costs are pretty high, but i would like to know more details. What can i do to pursue my dream? and if i don't have many chances to get where i want to, just tell me, cause i don't want to invest too much time, soul, hope and money into something without a future for me.

How to get ready for blue trails?
Hello,It is not to late to start. I know a lady who has skated for 12 years and is now 77. She started at age 55. She competes in adult competitions. As far as I know though, for Olympic Dreams it is possible but highly unlikely. Johnny wier is a national medalist and Olympic figure skater, and he started when he was 12, but that is about the oldest I know of that someone has started skating and has made it to the Olympics. Though if you get a tough coach (but yet a good one) that will push you hard it is possible if you put everyhting you have in it also you would have to train everyday. Skating takes up alot and you may have to sacrifice everything. You also, need to have very little fear to excell at the rate you want to. Even with that it is still highly unlikely as I stated before but still possible. So i think you should take lessons. You may not make it to the Olympics but you could go to Regionals, Sectionals, and Nationals which is what Olympic competitors compete in too. Also, you could take it up as a hobby and not skate as much and just do adult competitions. Which are just like kid competitions but for adults. You should talk to the coach you picked out about this and see what they say. I hope this helped answer your question. :-)
Why is Curling a topic an LaCrosse isn't?
the same happen to me but try when nobody was in my house then i learn how to skate hope this could help you a littleWhat is the difference between the Saloman Scream Hot and Saloman X-Scream snow skis?
You are still very young and if it is worth it for you to skate just because you love it - then you should. I don't know about ages for compitition - but there could be some out there. Some of those skaters do shows until they are as old as 40's. If you don't try to persue this dream you might regret it for the rest of your life. When your 30 - you'll wonder why you thought you were too old when you were 17 to follow your dream...don't wait till then. Do what you can do now to make it a reality.

You would be suprised on how fast you learned! When you take lessons you could be really good in like a year! People tell me having a nice coach really helps. The stuff you learn at the begining seems really easy, but still. So really all in saying is the coach helps.
