I'm pretty sure that you need training. At my mountian the ski patrol are also the medical aids/rescue squad, and I know you need to be certified for that.If thats the case check it out, find out when your mountian is hiring or ask them about job openings. You can try to brush up on first aid or work out a little more to prepare for the test.
During your next visit to your resort go to the Ski Patrol area and ask a patroller. He or she should be happy to assist you.
The general requirement for membership is to complete the National Ski Patrol Outdoor Emergency Care class and to pass a first aid exam. Local patrol groups may also impose other requirements.
